From the bustling bar and restaurant settings in downtown Manhattan to the funky listening rooms of Brooklyn, Wright Brothers was born in the fires of food and beverage. Delivering on tight budgets and even tighter deadlines has enabled us to work on multiple Michelin-rated and James Beard–winning projects.
Wright Brothers' residential philosophy evolved from the same commercial philosophy that got us started: a fierce sense of intentionality, creativity, and attention to detail. Incorporating the high-design details and techniques employed in our hospitality projects brings a breath of fresh air to the residential work we take on. Whether it's a gut renovation or a facelift, we bring the craft, design, and management of commercial projects to a scale that best fits your custom requests.
The Brooklyn headquarters houses a multidisciplinary fabrication studio. Here, clients' requests can be manufactured to spec. The small operation allows for fast production lead times along with hands-on input from the customer. This is the cornerstone of the Wright Brothers model — if we can't order it… we make it in house.
Native New Yorkers Taylor Mapps and Taaj Sallid founded Wright Brothers Worldwide in 2020 with the intention of shaking up the industry. Today, the firm remains proudly Black-owned and founder-led, delivering the quality and creativity of seasoned artisans while operating with the knowledge, efficiency, and accountability of trade professionals.
The original idea was simple: offer a design-build service that gave clients room for creative experimentation without losing sight of the fundamentals. Flexible in approach, grounded in craft.
Fast forward six years: more than 20 restaurants and bars, luxury residences exceeding 5,000 square feet, and a portfolio that continues to grow across New York and beyond. What sets us apart? An unapologetic attention to detail, embodied best by the bespoke products fabricated in our studio and the care we bring to every phase of a project.
Equally important is our deliberate relationship with our clients. From day one, our mission has been to take ownership of the aspects of construction and design that most contractors kick down the road. We believe exceptional work requires an honest, inspired, and collaborative process. Wright Brothers regularly works alongside architects, designers, and engineers to create results that are greater than the sum of their parts — combining ambitious ideas with practical execution to deliver spaces that feel distinctly considered, and enduring.
